Amid the departure of Bassam Tariq from the project Blade, Walt Disney Co. released an official statement announcing that it will postpone the release of several Marvel movies, including Blade, Fantastic Four, and Avengers: Secret Wars.
According to Reuters, the studio plans to take advantage of the production break and focus on delivering a top-notch script with Moon Knight writer Beau DeMayo. Since, the stories are all intertwined in the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse, this unexpected change has caused delay in other films as well.
The new dates will be as follows:
Blade, starring Mahershala Ali has been moved from November 3, 2023 to September 6, 2024.
Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3, which will be directed by Shawn Levy has been moved from September 6, 2024 to November 8, 2024. The production had recently announced that Hugh Jackman is set to make an appearance as “Wolverine.”
WandaVision director Matt Shakman’s Fantastic Four has been pushed back from November 8, 2024 to February, 14, 2025.
Avengers: Secret Wars, the most anticipated of the Marvel Multiverse, has been pushed back from November 7, 2025 to May 1, 2026.
